Everyone loves Amazon
You know the scenario because we’ve all been there. You dash into Target real quick to pick up something for the house and you run into one of your mom friends. You notice that she is wearing some really cute boots. “Oooh! Those boots are cute! Where did you get them?” you say. Your friend quickly replies, “Amazon! And they were ridiculously cheap! I’ll text you the link when I get home.”
Or how about this one…
It’s Friday and your child needs something for a school project that’s due Monday. You can’t find anything in the stores. Where do you look? Amazon! They’ve got what you need and it will be delivered on your doorstep by Saturday night. Welcome to the wonderful Amazon world we live in. Everyone uses amazon. You can’t beat the next day or weekend deliveries. How would I live without my Amazon Prime?
Amazon is the most valuable company in the world. It is worth $702 BILLION!!! Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon, is the richest man in the world. He is worth $119 billion!! Now that is just crazy to me. I can’t even wrap my head around that number. I don’t need that much money but the beauty of Amazon is that it offers bloggers like us the ability to get a share of their fortune through affiliate marketing. How can you get in on this? Keep reading!
If you promote Amazon products to your audience, and someone buys that product or service you are promoting then Amazon will give you a cut of the profits. Easy money, right? Affiliate marketing is amazing because it is a type of passive income and requires little to no work on your part. Amazon has an amazing affiliate marketing program and if you’re trying to make money blogging, you definitely need to sign up.
Here are 5 Reasons why you should become an amazon affiliate today.
1. You get 10% of the total purchase.
This is a good one and shows how generous Amazon is to its affiliates. Amazon gives its affiliates 10% of all the products their customers buy per session. Let me break this down so you can really understand that they’re just giving away money. Let’s say you blog about about home decor and tell your readers about a decorative pillow you really like. You give the readers your amazon affiliate link so they can buy the pillow off Amazon if they like it too. Let’s say one reader Suzie, clicks on your affiliate link and buys the pillow. But while Suzie is on Amazon she also remembers that she needs to buy a laptop. So she buys that too. Well, amazon will give you 10% of the total price of the pillow AND the laptop! Thanks, Suzie!
2. It’s an awesome passive income stream
Passive income is what I call Michael Jackson money. Michael Jackson created the album “Thriller” decades ago. However, he is still getting paid, over and over, for that recording. The work of creating the album was done once, but his estate and children are getting paid over and over again for it. Michael Jackson is making passive income from his music recordings. This is the true definition of worker smarter not harder.
What we as bloggers want to stay away from is trading dollars for hours. Think about a regular job where you work 40 hours a week and get paid an hourly rate. There is a cap to your income because you can only work a certain amount of hours and there are only 24 hours in a day. And if you don’t work, you don’t get paid.
In order to achieve greater income levels, you must harness the power of passive income and work to implement those types of income strategies to your blog and business. Becoming an Amazon affiliate is a great way to add passive income to your blog.
3. It’s Great for bloggers who are just starting out
The number one question I get asked is how to make money blogging. Everyone wants to make money blogging but a lot of people are clueless about where to start. They know they should start a blog but should they create a product or a course? Sell services? Well if you are just starting out from scratch, I always recommend becoming an Amazon affiliate as a way to start earning income.
Because in all honestly, if you are new to blogging, I don’t think you should start creating a whole bunch of products and services. I believe that it takes a while before you can figure out what products and services to offer to your audience. And that’s okay because by becoming an Amazon affiliate you can pick from hundreds of millions of products to offer to your readers.
4. People Trust Amazon
Amazon is the most popular retailer in the world! Everybody is on Amazon. I shop on Amazon. Your readers shop on Amazon and so do you. There is a popular saying in the business world. It says “Go where your customers are”. And if your readers or potential customers are on buying on Amazon, then you need to sell on Amazon. It’s just that simple.
5. It’s Easy to Start
The process to sign up and become an Amazon affiliate is super simple. Here are the steps.
