Believe it or not, sites like VRBO or AirBnb aren’t the only way to get bookings for your short-term rental. You can publish your own blog and social media accounts devoted to your short-term rental. Once established, watch the bookings come in. So, check out my go-to resources to get your blog and social media accounts up and running smoothly.

bluehostOut of all my blogging recommendations, this one is the most important.  Why? Because if you want to be a blogger, you gotta have a blog. I recommend Blue Host because they are the best web service provider.   With Blue Host you get reliable service (you’ll blog will never go down!), 24/7 technical support and a 30-day money back guarantee.   For a limited time, you can get web hosting service from Blue Host for as low as $3.95 a month, which is ridiculously cheap.  And as an added bonus, you’ll get a free domain name ($15 value) through my Blue Host link if you purchase at least one year of web hosting service.

Tailwind Tailwind is a service that automates pinning on Pinterest for you.  As I said earlier, Pinterest is an amazing way to explode your blog traffic.  However, you gotta pin on Pinterest daily to get that traffic explosion.  But who has time to go on Pinterest every day to pin?  I don’t!  I use Tailwind to schedule my pins in advance.  And all this scheduling on Tailwind doesn’t take a lot of time to do.  For the most part, I am hands off with Pinterest because Tailwind is doing all the pinning for me.  This allows me more time to focus on other areas of my business and spend more time with my family.   If you would like to try Tailwind for yourself, you can click on the link to activate your free trial.   Tailwind

pinterest traffic avalanchePinterest is a great way to get traffic to your blog.  I learned how to use Pinterest to bring tons of traffic to my blog in the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course.   Once I started blogging consistently and began pinning my blog post images on Pinterest, my blog traffic started to increase dramatically.  If you want to increase your blog traffic, I highly recommend that you sign up for the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course today.   Pinterest Traffic Avalanche – The only course you’ll need to bring tons of traffic to your blog.

making sense of affiliate marketing_1Affiliate marketing is when you promote someone else’s product or service to your audience.  If someone from your audience buys that product or service you are promoting, you a cut of the sale.  A popular financial blogger, Michelle Schroeder-Gardner, makes over $50,000 each month in affiliate income.  If you want to learn exactly how Michelle earns $50,000 a month in affiliate income, check out her online course “Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing“.   I have taken this affiliate marketing that course teaches you everything you need to know about to make money through affiliate marketing from your blog.

elegant themesElegant Themes by DiviA theme is the design of your blog.  Now, I recommend using WordPress as the software to run your blog.  WordPress has some built-in themes that you can use and you can also get free WordPress themes on the Internet.  However, I have tried both and firmly believe that you get what you pay for. I recommend Elegant Themes by Divi for your blog.  I use it on this blog and it is a game changer.  You can customize it to your blog and create any kind of configuration, layout or design that you want.

ConvertKit – Collecting email addresses is so important and having a large, engaged email list is the true sign of a profitable business.  You need to start collecting email addresses on day one that your blog is up.  Why?  So you can tell your subscribers if you are having a sale on your short-term rental rates or if you have sudden availability because a guest cancelled.  As the popular saying goes, “The money is on the list!”  I wish I had done this. There are lots of email subscription services out there and I have used many of them.  But I highly recommend ConvertKit which I currently use.  Click HERE to learn more about ConvertKit.
